Araniko School clinch championship

KATHMANDU: Araniko School clinched the Kirtipur Inter-school Boys Basketball Championship with a narrow 47-45 win over Learning Realm International (LRI) in

final today.

Panga beat Rara Hill 49-42 to win the third-place decider. Meanwhile, Roshan Pulami scored 15 points as Mangal Secondary School won the three-on-three title with a 33-24 victory over Rara Hill.

Akash Pariyar of Araniko claimed the most valuable player award and Nimesh Rai of LRI ended up as

the highest scorer (125)

of the tournament organised by Naya Bazaar Club of Kirtipur.

Chief coach of Nepal Basketball Association (NeBA) Dinesh Chandra Nakarmi and referee Raj Kumar Maharjan were also felicitated on the occasion. Nepal Basketball Association president Lama Tendi Sherpa among others gave away the prizes.

Monsoon Meet

KATHMANDU: Learning Realm International (LRI) and Ulliens have set the championship date in the Senior Boys’ section of the fifth Monsoon Meet Basketball Tournament today.

LRI eased to a comfortable 77-45 win over Pennwood riding on 20 points from Bishal Tamang while Kishan Nepali netted 22 points to steer Ulliens to a 69-54 win over Sambotta.

Lunava Singh netted 20 points as Shuvatara edged out Teresa 30-29 in the Senior Girls’ semi-finals. Shuvatara fight it out for the title against Kantipur on Monday. Gyanodaya Bal Batika advanced to the Junior Boys’ final with a 28-23 win over Galaxy. Gyanodaya will face Arunodaya for the championship.
