Army, Nepal APF record comfortable wins

Tribhuvan Army Football Club and Nepal APF Club registered huge victories in the National Women’s League here at the ANFA Complex grounds today.

TAFC thrashed Waling Municipality 7-0 riding on a hattrick from Bimala Chaudhary.

Dipa Rai, Sharmila Thapa, Hema Chaudhary and Bhujana Rai netted one goal each for TAFC, who had played a goalless draw with another departmental side Nepal Police Club in the inaugural match.

Bimala opened the scoring in the 14th minute when she slammed home following a flick header from Sharmila Thapa. Dipa Rai doubled the lead in the 28th minute following a pass from Sapana Lama, while Sharmila made it 3-0 moments before the first half whistle when she snatched the ball from Waling goalkeeper Sabitri Kisan and slotted home.

Bimala netted her second and team’s fourth goal after Waling’s African recruit Venesa Noel failed to clear the ball properly, while she completed the hat-trick on rebound after Waling keeper Kisan blocked the initial shot from Sharmila.
