Army, Three Star struggle

Kathmandu, January 26:

The struggle at the top flight continued on Friday when leaders Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) rallied for a 2-1 win over Sankata Kathmandu Mall Club and Nabil Three Star Club needed an injury-time goal to beat Armed Police Force (APF) 2-1 at the Martyrs Memorial San Miguel ‘A’ Division Football League here.

TAC lead the standing with 50 points. MPC have 45. Three Star and APF remained third and fourth with 41 and 37 respectively.

Sankata took a lead when Anil Ojha struck in the 40th minute through a stunning drive from 25 yards.

Raju Tamang levelled the scores in the 57th minute and then put the Armymen ahead in the 70th minute. Ojha was named the Adidas man of the match.

In the second match, APF took an early lead on a goal from Jibesh Pandey in the fourth minute. Rajesh Shahi headed home an equaliser following a free kick from Anjan KC in the 84th minute, while Chidiadi Chyna sealed the victory following a corner from Vishan Gauchan in the second half injury time. Jibesh Pandey was named the man of the match.
