Armymen enter semis

Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) advanced to the semi-finals of the fifth Manakamana Cable Car Pokhara Cup Football Tournament here on Monday.

TAC edged past Ruslan Three Star Club 1-0 in the quarter-final match played at the Pokhara Stadium. Bimal Rana scored the solitary goal of the match in the 61st minute follwoing a free kick from Santosh Tamang. This is TAC’s third win against Three Star Club thrice at the Pokhara Stadium. TAC will now face the winners of the match between Dharan FC and Delhi Football Club. Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyangdi Club and Nepal APF Club have already advanced to the semi-finals.

TAC coach Meghraj KC said the boys could not play well in the first half. “We changed our tactics in the second half that produced a goal. Boys made lot of mistakes in the match and they were also not able to complete their passes.” TSC coach Rajendra Tamang said TAC’s strategy of playing counter attack paid off for them. “The boys played well but lost the match.”
