KATHMANDU: A 12-member swimming team is on Wednesday leaving for Thailand to participate in the eighth Asian Age Group Swimming Championship slated for October 1-4 in Bangkok.

Gaurab Maharjan (50m freestyle), Nikon Purja (50m freestyle and breaststroke), Pawel Shah (50m butterfly and breaststroke) and Roshan Pun (50m freestyle and butterfly) will represent Nepal in men’s section.

Likewise, Swrikiti Ghising (50m freestyle and backstroke), Tisa Shakya (50m breaststroke and backstroke) Mansa Shrestha (50m freestyle) and Sofia Shah (50m and 100m freestyle) will participate in women’s events.

Ranjan Bhattarai (team leader), Ratna Maharjan and Yogendraman Shrestha (coaches) and Jenifer Lama (team manager) will accompany the players to Thailand.
