Baluwatar lose to Indian team

Bhaktapur, December 30:

The senior team of All India Twenty20 Cricket Federation of Chandigarh beat hosts Baluwatar Cricket Academy (BCA) by 11 runs during a friendly Twenty20 match here at the Birendra Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya Grounds today.

The Chandigarh team scored 117-9 and the BCA fell 12-run short of their target managing only 106-6 in their allotted 20 overs. The visitors’ total was built around a solid half century by Umesh Kehra. Kehra scored 50 off 51 deliveries while Suraj Pashwan contributed 11 and Manjeet Singh chipped in 10.

Prithu Baskota was the pick of the Baluwatar bowling with 6-19 from four overs. Devendra Yadav and Keshav Yadav took one wicket each.

Pawan Das matched the Kehra’s brillaint batting with a half centrury of his own for the home side but failed to guide his team to victory. Das made 51 from 56 balls while Prithu Baskota scored 31 off 39 balls for the Baluwatar Cricket Academy. Kehra, Ajay Bhardwaj and Abhinav Bhatt claimed one wicket each for the visiting Indian side.

In junior match, the visitors beat BCA by eight wickets. Batting first, BCA scored 80/8 in 20 overs before Chandigarh team overcame the target losing two wickets in 12.4 overs.

Ayush Rana top-scored with 20 and Ayush Sharma remained unbeaten on 11 runs for BCA. Man of the match Nitish Goyal and Parwez Chaudhary took two wickets each for Chandigarh team.

In reply, Sandeep Kumar scored 20 while Manjeet Singh and Paras Singh remained unbeaten on 19 and 15 respectively. Nabin Pradhan and Santa Tamang took one wicket each for BCA.
