Kathmandu, April 16

Dr Ranjeet Baral won the title of the Citizens Bank Cup Golf Tournament at the Gokarna Golf Club today.

Played under stableford 3/4 handicap format, Dr Baral accumulated 40 points to claim the title. Mithun Rai came second with 37 points. Tenzing Tshiring won the gross section trophy with 36 points. The 15-year-old Tshiring carded five birdies in his round that also earned him the most birdies award.

Aarti Rana lifted the women’s section trophy with 31 points, while Lt Gen (retd) KNS Thapa accumulated 36 points to win the senior section award. Sr

Advocate Bishwo Kant Mainali, who scored 35 points, was the best golfer amongst the Citizens Bank customers.

Arnav Shah won the junior section award on count back after he was tied on 35 points with Sam Doublard, while Harish Gorsia had a Hole-in-One on the par-3 fifth and he received a special prize. Rene Vijay Einhaus won the longest drive and Mithun Rai claimed the closest-to-the-pin awards.

A total of 92 golfers took part in the tournament sponsored by Citizens Bank. Board of Director at Citizens Bank Bal Krishna Prasai, President of Gokarna Golf Club Suhrid Ghimire, and CEO of Citizens Bank Rajan Singh Bhandari handed over the prizes to the winners.
