KATHMANDU: Basanta Raj Gurung carded one-over 69 to take a two-stroke lead over Bhuwan Kumar Rokka on the day of the Surya Nepal Golf Tour NPGA Qualifying School here at the Royal Nepal Golf Club on Tuesday.

Rokka played a round of three-over 71, followed by Dinesh Nagarkoti (75), Dal Lama (76) and Bhuwan Gurung (77). Krishna Sapkota, Kamal Tamang, Kishan Kaliraj and Narayan Chaulagain shared the sixth position with the identical scores of 11-over 79, while Amit Bogati and Rohit Acharya are 10th at 80. A total of 20 players are taking part in the tournament organised by PGA Nepal. Top five players after the 54-hole contest within the total score of 18-over will earn pro cards for the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2016-17.

Top three players will also receive Rs 5000, Rs 3000 and Rs 2000 respectively.
