BHAKTAPUR: Little Angels’ (LA) School and Baylor International Academy advanced to the semi-finals of the TVS Cup third Inter-school Invitational Football Tournament organised by Madhyapur Youth Association here today.

In the day’s first match, LA School came from behind to beat St Xavier’s School 4-2 in tie breaker after a 2-2 draw in the regulation time. St Xavier’s went 2-0 up in the first three minutes but could not hold on to the lead and were knocked out of the tournament.

St Xavier’s took the lead in the first minute of the match when Bibek Pradhan found the net soon after the whistle. Pradhan doubled the lead scoring his second goal in the third minue of the match. Rohan Kunwar of LA School reduced the deficit scoring in the 35th minute and Rahul Lama levelled the scores with a strike in the 58th minute. Raman Manandhar of LA was named the man of the match.

In the second quarter-final match, Krijal Adhikari scored the solitary goal as Baylor International Academy defeated Adarsha High School of Sano Thimi 1-0. Adhikari found the net in the 23rd minute. Hari Makaju of Baylor was declared the man of the match.

Defending champions Birendra Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya and GEMS have already entered the semi-finals.
