KATHMANDU: BernHardt College registered double wins on the opening day of the sixth BernHardt Cup Inter-college Basketball Tournament here on Monday.

In the boys’ section, BernHardt thrashed Gyan Niketan 51-25 riding on Aashish Bista’s 12 points, while Sofia Pun Magar’s 12 points helped the hosts register a 19-12 win over Rose Bud in girls’ section. In other boys’ matches, Premier edged past SANN 49-42 riding on 17 points from Diwas Poudel, Prime routed Kathmandu Model College 67-18 and Angels’ Heart overpowered New Summit 48-18 with the help of 24 points from Nikesh Magar.

A total of 32 teams are competing in the tournament.
