Bhandari hits ton as Triton hammer KCC

Kathmandu, March 26

Triton defeated Addea Kantipur City College by 109 runs in the Golden Gate College Cricket League here at the Tribhuvan University Stadium today.

Batting first, Triton posted 187-4 in their allotted 20 overs riding on the century from Binod Bhnadari before packing KCC for a paltry 78 runs with seven balls to spare. Bhandari scored tournament’s first century reaching the three digits in 61 balls. His 65-ball 104 was laced with 14 boundaries and three sixes.

Openers Bhandari and Adil Khan gave Triton a flying start adding 156 runs in 16.5 overs. Khan completed his half century scoring 51 off 38 balls that included six fours and a six. Arun Airee struck two fours and a six in his unbeaten 24 off just 10 balls. Sanjay Yadav and Subas Chhetry took two wickets each for KCC.

In reply, only two KCC batsmen were able to score in double figures.

Dinesh Agri top scored with 15, while Birendra Bam contributed 11.

The day belonged to Binod Bhandari as he returned to take three wickets and also affected a run out.

He was later named the man of the match. Sumit Jha took two wickets, while Bikram Sob, Jitendra Yadav, Avinash Adhikari and Arun Airee grabbed one wicket each.

The second match of the day between Omga and TU was cancelled due to rain. Omega had scored 40-3 in 7.3 overs before the torrential rain forced the abandonment of the match. Both the teams earned one point each.
