Bajracharya to face Bhandari

Kamal Bhandari and Samrakshyak Bhushan Bajracharya advanced to the men’s singles final of the lawn tennis tournament under the seventh National Games here at the Pokhara Stadium on Tuesday.
Nepal No 1 player from Nepal Police Club, Bhandari made it to the final with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Nabin Magar of Western Region, while No 2 ranked Bajracharya of Tribhuvan Army Club outplayed Kumar Adhikari of Eastern Region 6-1, 6-1 in another semi-final match. Rana sisters Mahika and Mayanka will fight for the gold medal in all-NPC women’s singles category.
Likewise, Kumar Adhikari and Anil Shahi of Eastern Region advanced to the men’s doubles along with Shree Ram Magar and Santosh Khatri of Nepal APF Club. Adhikari and Shahi defeated Kamal Bhandari and Raju Shrestha of Nepal Police Club 7-5, 6-2, while Magar and Khatri beat Western duo of Himal Shah and Pradeep Shah 6-2, 6-2.
Also, top ranked pairs — Mahika/Mayanka of NPC and Ira Rawat/Abhilasha Bista of TAC — made it to the women’s doubles final. The Rana sisters defeated Ani Mathema and Cathey Mathema 6-4, 6-2, while Rawat/Bista beat Bijisha Shrestha and Bibhuti Karki of APF 6-4, 6-2 in the semi-finals. The finals are slated for Wednesday.
