Bodybuilders qualify for finals

POKHARA: A total of 35 bodybuilders made it to the final round of the third Mr Himalaya Bodybuilding Championship here today.

Of the total 97 bodybuilders, five each in the seven weight categories — 55kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg and above-80kg — qualified after the pre-judging round. The selected 35 bodybuilders will now compete for the championships in their respective categories on Wednesday. Winners of each of the seven categories will qualify for the overall championship.

Dayaram Diwakar of Desperado Gym, Anil Tamrakar of Kalimati Friendship, Krishna Singh Shahi of Nepal Byayam Mandir (NBM), Krishna Bahadur Tamang of Platinum Fitness and Bed Bahadur Pulami of Thamel Physical Fitness (TPF) qualified in the 55kg category.

In the 60kg, Shiva Bahadur Thapa of Bulls Gym, Sachit Pradhan of Kalimati, Navin Kumar Ranjitkar of Kalanki Gym and Physical Centre (KGPC), Sunil Shahi and Ram Bahadur Balal of NBM were selected for the final round.

Among the bodybuilders selected in the 65kg section were Devendra Bajracharya (Kalimati), Gyan Narayan Maharjan and Ram Hari Khanal (NBM), Balram Balami (Perfect Gym) and Prakash Chylyachoo (Robust Gym).

Likewise, Shyam Shrestha (NBM), Keshav Udas (Gandaki Body Building), Mukti Raj Rai (Platinum), Surendra Rajthala (Paramount Physical Fitness) and Roshan Manandhar (Robust Gym) qualified in the 70kg category.

Arjun Barnawal (Birgunj Swimming Pool), Jaya

Maharjan and Surat Shrestha (Kalimati), Shree Thapa (Jharana Health Club) and Bimal Shrestha (NBM) were selected in the 75kg kg category.

Sunil Sunuwar (Lumbini Fitness), Rajkumar Limbu (Kanchanjunga New Bulls), Ren Bahadur Basukala (NBM), Kiran Shrestha (Perfect Gym) and Sunil Pokhrel (Ratna Shree Gym) qualified in the 80kg.

Also making it to the final round in the above-80kg category were Milan Bahadur Sijapati (NBM), Bimal Jung Shahi and Sunanda Shahi (Royal Gym), Buddha Bahadur Limbu (Top Fitness Centre) and Resh Rajthala (Paramount Physical Fitness).
