Bottom-place Aston Villa draws 0-0 at West Brom

BIRMINGHAM: Aston Villa's mini-revival continued as a 0-0 draw at West Bromwich Albion stretched the bottom-place team's unbeaten run to five games in all competitions on Saturday.

Villa was unfortunate not to have a spot kick awarded when Jordan Ayew was felled by Jonas Olsson near the byline midway through the first half. Villa is nine points from safety.

For the fourth time this season Tony Pulis' West Brom failed to register an attempt on target.

Not even the second-half introduction of Saido Berahino could inspire West Brom in what may prove to be the in-demand forward's final league game for the club.

West Brom goalkeeper Ben Foster made the key save of the first period when parrying from Ayew on his first league start since March following knee surgery.
