Boxer Thapa gets certificate

KATHMANDU: Boxer Sushil Thapa, who had been deprived of citizenship for a long time, got the certificate from Kathmandu District Administration Office on Wednesday.

Thapa was facing problems to get the citizenship as his father Shiva Thapa Magar and mother Shanti Thapa Magar both did not have the papers. Thapa got the certificate after National Sports Council Member Secretary Keshab Kumar Bista verified the player at the District Administration Office. Thapa, who won gold in 49kg event in seventh National Games, failed to take part in four international competitions in the absence of passport.
