Nayanagar win

KATHMANDU: Nayanagar Youth Club defeated Dhuku Sports Club 1-0 in the semi-final of the ‘C’ Division selection tournament at Sanogaucharan. Rajesh Thapa scored the winner in the 17th minute. Nayanagar will face Shree Kumari Club in the Group ‘D’ final for the third ‘C’ Division berth on Sunday. Two teams — Koilapani Poll Star Club from Group ‘A’ and Kumari Youth Club from Group ‘B’ — have already qualified for the ‘C’ Division League. — HNS

Dharan Cup

DHARAN: Deu Man Limbu won the Dharan Golf Cup on count back after he was tied with Kishor Thebe at 64 net points. Nar Bahadur Limbu finished third. Rajesh Rai won the gross section title, while Maj Prabin Khadka was the golfer ‘nearest to the pin’ and Saroj Yonjan won the beginner’s award. The team of Rajesh Rai, Major Prabin Khadka, Dilip Pradhan and Shankar Man Shakya captured the annual Khukuri Cup Team award. Among professional golfers, the game ended in a draw between Mani Rai and Dev Raj Pakhrin. Both players played 1 under par. Shukra Raj Rai came in third position. Manak triumph

LALITPUR: Manak Children Paradise School blanked Shree Bag Bhairav School 6-0 and The Blue Moon School thrashed North East School 7-0 in the Group ‘D’ matches of the Coca Cola Inter-school Football Tournament. Bishnu Lama struck twice while Deepak Singh Buda, Sanjay Silpakar, Prabinda KC and Sanjeev Shah added one each for Manak. Sujan Limbu completed hat-trick while Rahul Prasain scored two and Devendra Tamang and Rabindra Lama scored one each for The Blue Moon. Ravi KC scored six goals alone as Shree Gyanodaya School crushed Grammar Public 8-1 and Bright Future School beat Shree Sitala Secondary School 4-3 in tie-breaker. — HNS
