Lalitpur March 25:

Buddha Air defeated Doctors’ United 4-2 in the final of the 2PM Mighty5 Five-a-side Football Tournament here at Buddhi Bikash Mandal grounds today.

Earlier, in the semi-finals, Buddha Air beat Sita Air 4-3, and Doctors’ United outplayed North Pointers 3-1.

With the win, Buddha Air also bagged Rs 25,000. Peterson Dongol of North Pointers was named the best player of the ournament, while Asian Thai Foods won the fair play award.

In all, 16 teams from corporate houses took part in the tournament organised by Luniva Events under the sponsorship of 2pm noodles and supported by World Vision Advertising and Sunfru juice. The preliminary round matches were played last Saturday, and the remaining matches were held today. The 16 teams were divided into four pools and the top two teams from all the groups advanced to the quarter-finals.
