KATHMANDU: Nepal’s Buddhi Jung Karki won gold medal in the World Powerlifting Championship in India on Saturday.

Competing in the 90kg weight category, Karki lifted 160kg to finish first ahead of Indian athlete. Karki had won silver medal in the previous edition of the championship in India.

Another Nepali player, Prakash KC returned empty handed.

On Friday, Gyanendra Nakarmi and his son Rojin had won silver and bronze medal respectively.
