CAN announces cricket probables for ACC Trophy

Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), through a press release on Wednesday announced 22-player squad to represent Nepal in the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Trophy Cricket Tournament to be held in Singapore from July 10-21, 2002.

Players Selection Committee, constituted under the chairmanship of Padam Bogati of National Sports Council, selected the players who are undergoing a month-long close camp in Kathmandu from May 27. Other members of the selection committee were Sri Lankan coach Roy Dias, chief coach of Nepal Arun Aryal, executive committee member of CAN Tarak Mani Dixit and Dr Ajay Rana.

Nine among the selected 22 cricketers, including Binod Das, Shakti Gauchan, Bardan Chalise, Yashwant Subedi, Sanjam Regmi, Manoj Katuwal, Manjit Shrestha, Lakpa Lama and Dipesh Khatri are from the Under-19 squad that bagged the Plate Championship runner-up trophy in Under-19 World Cup Cricket Tournament held in New Zealand this year.

Raju Khadka, Dipendra Chaudhary, Mehboob Alam, Raj Kumar Pradhan, Paras Lunia, Paresh Lohani, Jay Prakash Sarraf, Arun Thapa, Binay Tripathi, Raju Basnyat, Kimon Ojha, Ritesh Baral and Basanta Regmi are the other players to represent Nepal.
