KATHMANDU, MAY 5
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has officially lifted the suspension imposed on cricketer Mohammad Aadil Alam, reinstating his eligibility to participate in both domestic and international cricket.
Alam had been barred from all forms of cricket following allegations of spot-fixing during the Nepal T20 Cricket League organized by CAN. The tournament took place at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Kathmandu, from December 24, 2022, to January 11, 2023.
The suspension was enforced under CAN's Anti-Corruption Code, pending a detailed investigation.
After completing due procedures, the CAN Integrity Committee concluded that there was insufficient evidence to justify continuing the ban. Based on the committee's final report, CAN decided to revoke the suspension.
The ban was officially lifted effective from May 3, 2025, allowing Alam to resume participation in all national and international cricketing events.
