KATHMANDU: The Cricket Association of Nepal on Thursday received second installment of Rs 9 million from Seven3Sports, the strategic and commercial partner of the NepalT20 Cricket League. Two days after Seven3Sports Co-founder Jatin Aluwalia was said to be fled to India leaving the tournament, CAN acting secretary Prashant Bikram Malla said the governing body received the amount.
"We had received Rs 10.1 million before the tournament and the Seven3Sports transferred Rs 9 million on Thursday," said Malla.
The NepalT20 is embroiled in controversies after accusations of spot-fixing and players' strike demanding their salaries. Players from Kathmandu Knights and Biratnagar Super Kings took it to the field only after the CAN officials assured them of their salaries within two days. T
he Central Investigation Bureau has already started its investigation into the matter following the direction from Home Ministry, while the International Cricket Council on Thursday sent two representatives of its Anti-Corruption Unit. The ICC representatives met with officials from CAN, CIB and National Sports Council Member Secretary Tanka Lal Ghising, and they are scheduled to return on Friday. The NSC has also formed a five-member probe committee under its executive committee member Ekendra Kunwar.
