Captain Mathews back for India tests after injury scare

COLOMBO: Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews has recovered from a wrist injury to be included in a 16-man squad to play three tests against India starting next week.

Sri Lanka Cricket announced the squad, which also includes uncapped left-arm seamer Vishwa Fernando, and strike bowler Rangana Herath who was dropped for the recent third test against Pakistan.

Mathews was doubtful for the first test starting next Wednesday because of a wrist sprain.

The 23-year-old Fernando has taken 98 wickets in 34 first-class matches.

Fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera has been included subject to a fitness test.
