Cardiff, West Bromwich enter FA Cup semis

Cardiff extended the run of FA Cup upsets on Sunday with a 2-0 win over Middlesbrough, putting the Welsh team in the semi-finals of the English competition for the first time since they won in 1927.
Peter Whittingham and Roger Johnson scored at Riverside Stadium for Cardiff, the only team
from outside England to have won the trophy.
West Bromwich Albion joined Cardiff in the last four with a 5-1 win at League One club Bristol Rovers, led by a hat-trick from Ishmael Miller.
Portsmouth are the only Premier League club in the FA Cup semi-finals, with League Championship Barnsley taking the other berth.
In the Premier League, Arsenal were held to a 0-0 draw at Wigan. The Gunners have 66 points, leading Manchester United by two points, but the Red Devils have played one game less. Everton kept up with Liverpool in the race for fourth place with a 1-0 win at Sunderland, and Tottenham beat 10-man West Ham 4-0.
Spanish La Liga
MADRID: Juan Arango scored three goals on Sunday to help Mallorca rout Recreativo Huelva 7-1 — the club’s biggest ever win in the Spanish first division.
Mallorca raced to a 5-1 lead before halftime at Ono Stadium through Arango’s first goal and two each from striker Daniel Guiza and midfielder Borja Valero.
Forward Marco Ruben, who is on loan from Villarreal, headed in Recreativo’s goal shortly before the interval. Mallorca got another from Arango in the 47th, and the Venezuelan completed his hat-trick in the 50th.
Also, Luis Fabiano’s 20th goal of the season gave Sevilla a 2-1 win over last-place Levante. Also, it was: Racing Santander 3, Real Betis 0; Murcia 0, Getafe 3; Osasuna 2, Almeria 1; and Athletic Bilbao 2, Valladolid 0.
