Carlsberg Golf Classic tees off today at RNGC

Kathmandu, November 16:

Carlsberg is organising the Carlsberg Golf Classic, an annual event, aimed at uplifting and upgrading the standard of amateur golfers in Nepal on November 17 and 18 here at the Royal Nepal Golf Club.

Carlsberg has been actively promoting golf in Nepal. It has been eight consecutive years that Carlsberg has been organising the event.

The winner will get Carlsberg Golf Trophy and represent Nepal in the Malaysian Open Pro Am Event 2007. All the expenses related to air travel, stay and food will be borne by Carlsberg. The runner-up will be awarded with trophy, two-way ticket to Pokhara, two-night stay at Hotel Shangri-la Resort in Pokhara and one-day play at Himalayan Golf Course.

The golf tournament held in past eight years has certainly contributed towards the development of golf in Nepal and gained a remarkable recognition in Nepal. There have been a growing number of participants and this kind of annual event certainly provides a platform to increase potential of golf in Nepal and encourage aspiring golfers as well, said the organisers in a release.

There are also prizes for Best Gross, Super Senior, Senior, Ladies, Best 1st Nine, Best 2nd Nine, Lucky Sixteen, Closest to Pin, Longest Drive, Hole In One, Most Birdies and Booby winners.
