Esplanade Liberals Cricket Club of Mumbai beat Chitwan Cricket Association (CCA) XI by seven wickets in the first of the three-match friendly cricket series today. Batting first, the hosts scored 230-5 in 40 overs, with Sachin Gupta scoring 84 unbeaten runs and Dipendra Chaudhary 54 runs. For the visitors, Mangesh Darekar and Akshay Darekar took two wickets each. The visitors chased the total losing three wickets in 36.3 overs. Nilesh Masurakar scored an unbeaten 77 and Vaibhav Shivdikar made 45. Dipendra, Sharad Vesawkar and Sambhu Sitaula took one wicket each for CCA XI. The second match is slated for Tuesday and the final for Wednesday.
