CCRC beat DAV, enter in final
Kathmandu, December 31:
CCRC registered a 103-run win over DAV in the semi-final of the Thakur Nath Pant Memorial Inter-college Cricket Tournament today.
Electing to bat first, CCRC scored 197-6 in 30 overs. CCRC had a poor start as their hard-hitting opener Mehboob Alam was out for a duck with only one runs on board. Pramod Basnyat (0), soon joined Alam, leaving CCRC tottering at 3/2 in the second over.
But Anil Mandal and Pawan Das (31) put on 77-run third wicket partnership to steady their innings. Mandal smashed eight fours and two sixes on his way to 78-ball 75 runs. Dipesh Khatri also scored 62 runs in 60 balls including five fours and two sixes. Radhye Shyam Mishra took three wickets for DAV. Pankaj Pokharel and Samrat Amatya also claimed one wicket each.
Chasing the 198-run target, DAV was all out for 94 runs in 21.1 overs. Sagar Panta scored run-a-ball 29 runs. Sudeep Sharma claimed four wickets giving away just 10 runs in 2.1 overs while Sanjam Regmi and Raj Sharma picked two each for CCRC. Alam and Avay Rana also bagged one wicket apiece. Anil Mandal was declared man of the match.
