Chyasal turns into battlefield

Lalitpur, May 27 :

Five players injured in a fight that occured in the ‘C’ Division Selection tournament between Raniban Youth Club and Nakhipot Youth Club here at the ANFA Technical Centre in Chyasal on Saturday.

All the injured five players of Raniban Youth Club sustained head injuries and were rushed to hospitals. Four of them returned home with minor injuries while Bijay Lama was admitted at the B&B Hospital but is out of danger, said match commissioner Despal Singh Hamal, who is also the vice president of Lalitpur FA.

According to Hamal, Nakhipot players instigated the fight in the 12th minute following a foul by a Raniban Youth Club player. “We tried to stop the fight but could not prevent players from sustaining injuries,” Hamal said. Condemning the incident, All Nepal Football Association said that it would take action against the guilty.

Meanwhile, Kumari Club and Chyasal Youth Club will fight the ‘C’ Division berth from Group ‘A’ after winning their matches on Saturday. Kumari Club defeated Wambule Rai Samaj 5-1 and Chyasal beat Kamal Youth Academy 3-2 in tie-breaker.
