LALITPUR: Himal Lama and Sajin Maharjan advanced to the final of the fourth Corporate Cup Chess Tournament here on Wednesday. Lama outplayed Suman Rai 2-0, while Maharjan edged past Sumit Pant in sudden death after the classic game and tie breaker ended in draws. The winner of the tournament will receive a motorcycle, while the runner-up will receive Rs 50,000. Pant and Rai will compete for the third place playoff. In league, Kshitiz Bhandari was on the pole position with 6.5 points from eight rounds, while Bhupendra Niraula and Ganeshman Duwal were joint second with 6 points each. Keshav Shrestha, Raj Kumar Lama, Rijendra Rajbhandari, Suman Rai and Janardan Shrestha have 5.5 points each.
