The second edition of the Corporate Golf Tournament organised by Baahrakhari Media Pvt Ltd is scheduled for December 15 at the Gokarna Golf Club.

Around 100 golfers from corporate sector are expected to take part in the tournament to be played under stableford ¾ handicap format, informed the organisers at a press meet today.

“The winner will receive a golden golf ball, while we also have other attractive prizes,” said Gyaneshwor Acharya, Managing Director of Baahrakhari Media Pvt Ltd. “We have also put a car as prize for Hole in One achievement,” he added. The tournament features overall, gross, senior, junior, and women categories. “We will try our best to make it a well-managed event,” said Senior Golf Director of Gokarna Forest Resort Deepak Acharya.

President of Gokarna Golf Club Suhrid Ghimire said Nepal was the best place for golf but it lacked promotion. “We have the best weather condition compared to other countries in Asia and I hope event like this will help in its promotion,” said Ghimire.

President of Nepal PGA Rabindra Man Shrestha hoped the tournament would be an example in setting the standard of social golf. “The tournament is already popular among golfers and I believe this event will set a bench mark in the field of golf,” added Shrestha. He also urged media to lobby for at least one golf course in all seven provinces of the country.
