Crystal Palace rescue point against 10-man West Ham

LONDON: Dwight Gayle scored the equalizer as Crystal Palace drew against a 10-man West Ham 2-2 in the English Premier League on Saturday.

The result stalled West Ham's top-four ambitions, as it remained fifth.

Palace started well with Damien Delaney's early header.

West Ham then took charge, Manuel Lanzini scoring just three minutes later, followed by a sublime Dimitri Payet free kick just before halftime.

The game turned when West Ham was reduced to 10 men, Cheikhou Kouyate receiving a red card for a foul on Gayle in the 67th minute. Gayle then leveled eight minutes later with a strike from 12 meters out.

Crystal Palace was still without a win this year.
