Lalitpur, October 30:

Bibek Dali took five wickets as Region No 2 (Birgunj) beat Region No 5 (Nepalgunj) by 57 runs in the Pepsi Under-15 National Cricket Tournament here today.

Batting first, Birgunj were bowled out for 151 runs in 39.2 overs and restricted Nepalgunj to 94 in 30 overs. Opener Robin Gurung scored 22 off 38 balls hitting three fours, while Sameer Nepal top-scored with 50-ball 37 including four fours and two sixes. Sagar Gupta hit three boundaries in his 42-ball 18.

For Nepalgunj, Dinesh KC took 4-12 off 7.2 overs, while Sharad Marasini claimed 3-30 and Ajay Rasaili pocketed 2-26. In Nepalgunj’s reply, Rupesh Sharma top-scored with 40 off 67 balls including four fours, while Sanjeev Sonai and Sunil Sunar contributed 10 runs each.

For Birgunj, Bibek Dali took 5-35 off eight overs. Marketing manager of Pepsi Bikram Thapa gave away the man of the match award to Dali. On Wednesday, Birgunj will take on Region No 4 (Bhairahawa).
