KATHMANDU: The One Taekwondo Academy of the United States of America has appointed former Nepal national taekwondo team coach, Shyam Dangol as its instructor.

Dangol, who coached the Nepal national teams in the 13th and 17th Asian Games along with eighth South Asian Federation Games, worked at the Oregon-based academy as a volunteer for a couple of months before getting the job of taekwondo instructor.

"The leadership skills and commitment to have demonstrated made me exceptionally proud and confident in hiring you as a visionary, futuristic and excellent individual with the aptitude of high work ethics," said Frenel Ostin, President and Founder of the Academy in the appointment letter.

Before moving to the US, Dangol coached the likes of Asian Games silver medallist Sabita Rajbhandari, first Nepali athlete to qualify for the Olympics Sangina Baidhya and four-time South Asian Games gold medallist Deepak Bista among others.
