KATHMANDU: DAV School won the title of the Canvas Indoor School Cricket Tournament here on Thursday.

DAV defeated Biratnagar Boarding School by 76 runs in the final. Batting first, DAV posted 132-1 in their allotted 10 overs before packing Biratnagar to 56 runs in 6.5 overs. Player-of-the-match Aaditya Rauniyar top scored for DAV with an unbeaten 82 off just 30 balls, while Saksham Neupane scored 27-ball 26 not out. Rakesh Chaudhary took one wicket for Biratnagar.

In reply, Aashish Chaudhary (13) and Prashant Chaudhary (11) scored in double figures for Biratnagar. Risham Man Malekhu and Suraj Shrestha took two wickets each for DAV. Malekhu was adjudged the player of the series, while Sarthak Dhital of Om National School and Ishant BK of Babylon School were named the best batsman and bowler respectively.

All three players will receive free six-month training from Wai Wai Great Himalayan Cricket Academy. Former national cricket team skipper Binod Das handed over the prizes to the winners.
