Nepali taekwondo player Ranjana Dhami won bronze medal in the Para Asian Games Qualifying Tournament in Sharjah on Thursday.
Competing in the women's below-47kg event under K-44 category, Dhami faced a 18-16 defeat at the hands of player from Kazakhstan in the semi-finals. According to coach Kabiraj Negi Lama, Dhami could not qualify for the Para Asian Games as only the finalists earned berths.
Another Nepali player, Ram Bahadur Ahhikari lost in the first round. Two players, Para-Olympian Palesha Govershan and Srijana Ghising have earned direct entries to the Games, thanks to their world rankings.
