Hosts Dharan Football Club showered visiting Thermol Sporting Club of Assam 8-0 to enter the semi-finals of the eighth Budha Subba Gold Cup Football Tournament here on Sunday.

Skipper Milan Shrestha struck four goals while Shekhar Limbu netted two and Sagar Ghimire and Rishi Rai added one each for the hosts. Milan Rai put Dharan ahead in the 19th minute following Rishi’s pass before adding another in the 36th, also assisted by Rishi. In the 49th minute, Shekhar made it 3-0 on a pass from Rishi.

Rishi,who assisted in all three previous goals, converted himself in the 61st minute. Milan completed his hat-trick five minutes later and it was again Rishi the provider. Sagar added the sixth goal on a freekick in the 77th minute, while Shekhar added another a minute later. Milan completed the rout in the 81st minute.

Man of the match Milan Shrestha said that they had to struggle a bit in the first half but found their rhythm in the second.

On Monday, last year’s runner-up Jawalakhel Youth Club will take on Mahendra Police Club.
