KATHMANDU: Dinesh Chhantyal and Sarika Theeng won the gold medals in the first Junior National Sambo Championship here on Saturday. Chhantyal defeated David Gharti Magar in the boys’ section final, while Pratik Shrestha and Danel Ghale finished joint third. In girls’ category, Theeng beat Kriti Sharma to win the gold medal, whereas Sushmita Ale Magar and Anita Tamang were joint third. International Sambo Federation Disciplinary Committee Secretary Jun Morita was judge, while Professor of Nihon Wellness Sports University of Japan, Yasuhiro Tanaka was referee in the championship organized by Nepal Sambo Federation.
