Double delight for SAM; Aryan triumph

Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya (SAM) registered double victories in the DAV International
Fraternity and Unity School Cricket League here at the Institute of Engineering grounds in Pulchowk on Sunday.
In the first match of the day, SAM defeated Kendriya Vidhyalaya by 83 runs. Batting first, SAM scored 184-4 in 20 overs and restricted Kendriya Vidhyalaya to 101-9 in 18 overs. Man-of-the-match Sajal Bhandari top scored for SAM with 56 off just 23 balls that included five fours and three sixes.
Also, SAM edged past City Montessori School of Lucknow by six runs. Batting first, SAM posted a total of 119-8 in 18 overs and restricted City Montessori to 113-9 in 18 overs. Man-of-the-match Wangdi Thapa Magar top scored for SAM with 43 off 36 balls. In another game, Balbhawan International School of New Delhi registered a 63-run victory over New Horizon School of Butwal. Batting first, Balbhawan scored 161-5 in 18 overs before packing New Horizon for 98 runs in 15 overs. Aman Jainwal received the man-of-the-match trophy for his incredible innings of 31-ball 70 that included seven fours and four sixes.
Likewise, Sunrise School of Chitwan thumped Paragon Public School of Kathmandu by seven wickets. Batting first, Paragon were bowled out for 100 runs in 17.5 overs before Sunrise raced to 101-3 in 16.5 overs. Man-of-the-match Nishav Timilsina finished with the figure of 3-13 in 2.5 overs. In another match, Aryan International School routed Rajan Memorial School by nine wickets. Aryan International bowled out Rajan Memorial for 69 runs in 14.3 overs before they reached 73-1 in just 34 balls. Man-of-the-match Shubham Verma claimed two wickets and scored 11-ball 22 hitting four boundaries and a six.
A total of 10 teams are taking part in the six-day tournament organised by DAV Sushil Kedia Vishwa Bharati School.
