POKHARA: Nepal Police Club’s Siwangi Dube and Kanchanpur’s Komal Khatri recorded double wins in the first National Women’s Wrestling Tournament here on Friday.

In 48kg event, Dube defeated Deepika Basnet of Ilam and Andez Nepali of Dang. In 58kg section, Khatri outplayed Morang’s Shreejana Chaudhary and Bara’s Shreejana Chand. However, Chand defeated Ganga Oli of Surkhet in another match.  In 63kg section, Tribhuvan Army Club’s Sushila Chand and Dadeldhura’s Nira Auji won their matches, while Kanchanpur’s Laxmi Khatri and Banke’s Mamta Kahar recorded wins in 69kg.

In 53kg event, Manipa Singh of Darchula, Radha Kumari Khatri and Morang’s Sejal Podar won their matches, while Ambika Bhandari of Darchula won her match in 55kg section. Nepal Wrestling Association is organising the two-day event. — HNS
