Hannam University of South Korea will take on East Bengal of India in the final of the San Miguel International Cup football tournament here at Dasharath Stadium on Sunday.

Both the visiting teams eliminated home teams to enter the championship match. Hannam University defeated Nepal ‘Red’ 2-0, and East Bengal routed Nepal ‘Blue’ 1-0 in the semi-finals.

Both the finalists faced losses in the league round. East Bengal was beaten by Nepal ‘Red’, and Hannam University lost to Nepal ‘Blue’ by identical 1-0 score.

East Bengal got back in the competition with a 2-1 win over Farashganj Sporting Club of Bangladesh and entered last four, while Hannam University registered a thumping 3-0 victory over DTDC Tollygunj Agragami of India. East Bengal, which won Wai Wai Cup in Kathmandu in 1993, are looking for another title after 14 years. The two have never faced each other.
