KATHMANDU: Greenland, Reliance and Laligurans won the titles of the eighth Golden Peak Inter-school Basketball Tournament here on Friday.

Greenland defeated hosts Golden Peak 46-42 in the boys’ section final. Rajiv Ale top scored for Greenland with 19 points and he was later adjudged the Most Valuable Player of the tournament. Reliance won the girls’ section trophy following their 14-10 victory over Golden Peak. Ojaswi Niraula netted 11 points alone for Reliance and she also bagged the MVP award.

Likewise, Laligurans beat Angel Heart 36-33 in junior boys’ section final riding on 11 points from Dipesh Chhetry, who was named the MVP. Golden Peak clean swept the highest scorers’ awards with Gopal Bhandari, Dawa Chhinjum Sherpa and Subin Tamang winning in boys, girls and junior boys sections respectively.

Sakriya Adhikari of Valley Public and Diwas Garbuja won the best three-pointer awards in boys and junior boys sections, while Emonika Rai of Golden Peak was named the emerging player in girls’ section.
