EPL: Biratnagar triumphs over Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The Biratnagar Warriors have continued their winning streak knocking out Kathmandu Kings XI in the Everest Premier League (EPL) Cricket Championship.

Biratnagar Warriors edged Kathmandu XI by a narrow margin of eight runs in the match held at the TU International Cricket ground at Kirtipur today.

Biratnagar who were invited to bat first after losing the toss set a 148-runs-victory-target in 20 overs at the loss of seven wickets. Kathmandu was limited to 139 losing 9 wickets.

Babar Hayat contributed the highest number of 67 runs followed by Ansuman Rath with 32 runs, captain Paras Khadka with 26 runs, Anil Shah with 9 runs and Karan KC scored 5 runs in Biratnagar's victory.

Kathmandu King XI's Sompal Kami and Amar Singh Rautela claimed two wickets each while captain Pharwej Maharuf and Jitendra Mukhiya took one wicket each.

Biratnagar's Ansuman Rath took three wickets while Basanta Regmi and Ram Naresh Giri took two wickets each. Anshuman Rath of Biratnagar Warriors was declared 'Man of the Match' and he bagged Rs 10 thousand.
