KATHMANDU: The National Sports Council has appointed former NSC Member Secretary Yubaraj Lama as the President of Nepal Karate Federation with mandate of drafting bylaws and holding elections within three months.

Member Secretary Tanka Lal Ghising handed over the appointment letter to Lama and his team members amidst a programme. Dawa Gurung, who led parallel NKF, is co-president in the new body, while Purendra Bikram Lakhe is the vice-president.

Hari Sharan KC is General Secretary, Om Krishna Prasai is joint general secretary, Shyam Sherpa and BR Mitra are secretaries, and Sanu Lal Shrestha is treasurer.

The NSC had formed an ad hoc committee under Shambhu Acharya with the same mandate but the committee failed to accomplish the task in four years.
