MAHENDRANAGAR: Farwest Province defeated Province-5 by 51 runs in the Mirai Prime Minister Cup Women’s Twenty20 Cricket Tournament here on Sunday. Batting first, Farwest were bowled out for 100 runs in 16.1 overs before packing Province-5 for 49 runs with 24 balls to spare. Player-of-the-match Kabita Kunwar top scored for Farwest with a quick fire 43 off 25 balls that included eight boundaries, while Kabita Joshi struck two fours in her 21-ball 19.

Nery Thapa and Alisha KC took three wickets each for Province-5. In reply, Laxmi Chaudhary was the lone Province-5 batter to score in double figures with an unbeaten 12 off 16 balls including two fours. Janaki Bhatta was the pick of the Farwest bowlers taking 3-4, while Kabita Kunwar, Suman Bhatta and Laxmi Saud grabbed two wickets each.
