KATHMANDU: The first Zest Open National Badminton Tournament is beginning here at the Zest Badminton Academy from Sunday. Around 134 players are expected to take part in the tournament that features six events in men’s singles and doubles, women’s doubles, boys U-15, Masters above-35 and above-45, informed Zest Badminton Academy President Madhusudan Pathak.

The academy is a newly established facility in Basundhara and former Nepal champion and senior coach Sudip Yonjan has been providing training to the players. Nepal Badminton Association President Ramji Bahadur Shrestha congratulated the academy for being able to establish academy and organise the national level tournament in short period.
