PHIDIM: Defending champions Phidim Sporting Club advanced to the semi-finals of the seventh Falgunanda Gold Cup Football Tournament with a 2-0 victory over Mai Valley Sporting Club here on Sunday.

The hosts took a lead through Dhiroj Tamang’s goal in the 67th minute, while man-of-the-match Peter Segun doubled the tally in the 79th minute.

A total of eight teams are competing in the tournament. On Monday, Birtamod United, Jhapa will take on KSS, Taplejung.
