Footballer Nagashima visits Nepal

KATHMANDU: Former Japan international footballer and sports news anchor Akihiro Nagashima recently visited different places of Nepal under the project ‘We Need to Do Something.’

Nagashima mainly observed the development activities and recovery efforts in the country that was hit by earthquake in 2015.

The project is operated by the Japan NGO Centre for International Cooperation (JANIC), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Representation Office and JICA mainly to promote information of the ongoing situation in developing countries and opportunities related to developing countries.

Nagashima visited Chautara and Irkhu Municipality of Sindhupalchowk as well as Panauti and Bhaktapur.

Besides that, Nagashima interacted with Nepali national football team members and coach Gyotoku Koji at All Nepal Football Association. Nagashima had played four matches for Japan.
