KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 7

After the success of the franchise-based football league, the Nepal Sports and Events Management is organising the Nepal Super League Volleyball in November.

Nepal Sports Management had organised the six-team Khukri NSL at the Dasharath Stadium in May and they have come up with the NSL Volleyball this time around.

Vice-president of Nepal Volleyball Association Niroj Maskey and Chairperson of Nepal Super League Ashrayata Karki Chaudhary signed the memorandum of understanding to seal the deal.

As per the MoU, the Nepal Sports and Events Management will organise the seven-team NSL Volleyball, both men and women, from November 17 to December 17, while NVA will provide the organisers with technical support.

The NVA will also get 30 per cent from the profit.

NSL Chairperson Ashrayata Karki Chaudhary said the tournament would be a milestone in the development of volleyball. "The tournament will definitely help volleyball grow in the years to come," she said. NSEM President Sudeep Sharma said they were planning to organise the next edition under homeand-away format. The NSEM will also support the NVA Club Championship.

NVA General Secretary Jitendra Bahadur Chand said the players would be divided into four categories to form seven teams - one each from seven provinces.
