Kathmandu, December 15:

Nilendra Dewan scored twice as Friends Club thrashed relegation-threatened Brigade Boys Club (BBC) 4-1, while Boys Union Club emerged 2-1 victorious over Jawalakhel Youth Club (JYC) in the battle between the two lowly clubs at the Martyrs’ Memorial San Miguel ‘A’ Division League here today.

NIB Friends’ new signing Subair Muritali Ali put the club ahead in the seventh minute before Dewan doubled the tally in the 37th minute.

Binod Thapa reduced the margin to 2-1 in the 73rd minute but Raj Kumar KC restored the two-goal lead four minutes later and Dewan put the issue beyonf doubt when he scored his second goal in the 82nd minute. Friends goalkeeper Uzol Manandhar was named the Adidas man of the match.

In the second match, BUC took lead in the 70th minute through Raju Rai’s close-range goal, while Samsung JYC levelled the scores in the 82nd minute when Min Lama found the net. Raju Rai scored the winning goal four minutes later. Rai was named the Adidas man of the match.
