Gitamata, Bright Horizon in Super final

Kathmandu, June 8:

Gitamata High School and Bright Horizon Children Home entered the Super final of the selection tournament for the Coca Cola Inter-school National Football Tournament today.

Gitamata defeated Trungram International Academy (TIA) 4-1 on prnalties after both the teams were deadlocked at 1-1 draw in the Group E final. Nirdesh Budhathoki put TIA ahead in the second minute, while Pasang Tamang scored the equaliser in the 33rd minute.

In the Group F final, Bright Horizon outplayed Tri-Jyoti High School 5-1. Puskar Lama and Nima Sherpa scored two goals each and Rimjim Wangchhen Gurung netted one for the winners, while Buddha Gurung scored the consolation goal for Tri-Jyoti. Gitamata will take on Bright Horizon in the Group E and F Super final on June 11 and the winner will qualify for the main draw.

In the Group G match, Rakesh Gajmer scored a hat-trick as Manohar High School ouerwhelmed Interlekcharal Academy 4-0 to advance to the quarter-finals. Gajmer scored in the 18th, 28th and 62nd minutes, while Suraj Srivastav netted another goal in the 57th.
