Golden Gate enter semis
KATHMANDU: Depot, Golden Gate, Kaski and VS Niketan reached the men’s semi-finals of the White House Cup third U-19 National Basketball Tournament here today.
Depot beat Triton 62-50 riding on 26 points from Heman Rai. Depot were trailing in the first quarter by 12-13 but found the rhythm in the second adding 17 to that of 11 from Triton. They added 15 and 18 after the break conceding 10 and 26.
Bikram Dangol posted 22 points as Golden Gate beat Golfutar 44-38. Golden Gate took a 14-6 lead in the first quarter but saw their lead reduced to three points after they scored four conceding nine points in the second quarter. Both the teams scored 15 each in the third quarter. Golden Gate then sealed the match in the final quarter with another three point lead (11-8).
Kaski defeated Gyanodaya 68-56 following a 23-point contribution from Hemanta Pun while Bijaya Boorja netted 11 as VS Niketan beat Trinity 37-31.
